Media tidak bisa lepas dari pemberitaan Piala Dunia 2010 yang digelar di Afrika Selatan. Kejuaraan sepak bola sedunia ini memang diminati oleh banyak orang, seperti yang diungkap dalam survey Nielsen:
“In the Asia Pacific region, Indonesians declares themselves the most avid followers of football with more than half (54%) saying they are fans of the game, followed by Vietnamese (52%) and Indians (47%). But the appeal of the World Cup finals appears to reach far beyond football’s usual fan base – the Nielsen figures reveal that in all Asia Pacific countries, intent to follow the World Cup is much higher than the traditional football fan base. Kompetisi Euro 2008 masih terus berlanjut. Di grup B, 12 Juni 2008 22.15, tim Kroasia akan bertemu dengan Jerman. Dilanjutkan 13 Juni 2008 01.00 Austria akan berlaga melawan Polandia.
Memasuki bulan Juni, perhatian dunia tertuju pada event sepak bola dunia, 2008 UEFA European Football Championship atau lebih sering disebut sebagai Euro 2008. Kali ini, Euro 2008 akan diadakan di Austria dan Switzerland, mulai 7 hingga 29 Juni 2008. Kompetisi sebelumnya diselenggarakan di Portugal pada tahun 2004 dan pada tahun 2012 akan diadakan di Ukraina dan Polandia.
