John Taylor Duran Duran kembaran Lupus

Di era 90an sebuah majalah remaja pria ternama di negeri ini mengangkat cerpen menarik yang menokohkan Lupus seorang pelajar SMA dengan ciri khas potongan rambut sebahu dengan bagian depan dibiarkan mengombak menutup separuh dahi. Karakter Lupus yang diciptakan oleh Hilman Hariwijaya ini memang sengaja mengambil model rambut John Taylor (Bassist Duran Duran – grup band flamboyan asal UK yang akan manggung di Plennary Hall Jakarta).
Saat itu penampilan John Taylor benar-benar telah mewabah di dunia termasuk Indonesia. Karena selain senyumnya yang keren, penampilan yang cool membuat generasi saat itu kepincut habis. Bersama Simon LeBon (Vocal), Nick Rhodes (Keyboards) dan Roger Taylor (drum) mereka menggunakan bendera Duran Duran. Di masa itu hampir di seluruh dunia kalangan muda terpengaruh dengan performance mereka.
Grup band yang dulunya sempat dicap hanya bermodal tampang doang namun akhirnya berhasil membuktikan kalau mereka pantas menjadi grup band papan atas. Tentunya selain dengan penghargaan-penghargaan yang mereka raih, diikuti juga perolehan angka fantastis dalam penjualan album-albumnya. Setelah meluncurkan album Astrounout, mereka menggebrak dengan album terbarunya Red Carpet Masacre. Sedangkan Falling Down salah satu hits dalam album tersebut yang diproduseri bareng Justin Timberlake, sedang mengharu biru hampir di seluruh station radio di bumi ini. Sekarang meskipun sudah cukup bisa dibilang tua namun John Taylor dan cs-nya ini masih layak jadi idola.

Duran Duran dibentuk di Birmingham, London pada 1979. Personil awal: Simon LeBon (vocal), Nick Rhodes (keyboard), John Taylor (bass), dan Roger Taylor (drum).Konser An Evening with Duran-Duran akan digelar di Plenary Hall, Jakarta Convention Centre pada 8 April 2008 mulai pukul 20.00 WIB
