Fellowship from National Press Foundation

NPF With Women Worldwide Alert: National Press Foundation Seeking Journalist
Applications for J2J and Mexico City AIDS Conference

The Journalist to Journalist (j2j) program of the National Press Foundation
will once again hold a four-day educational program for international
journalists prior to the International AIDS Conference (IAC) in Mexico City,
Mexico. The dates for the j2j program are July 29-August 1, 2008, and the
dates for the IAC are August 3-8, 2008.

Background
As in years past, the National Press Foundation will offer full fellowships
to qualified journalists to both the j2j program and the IAC. The j2j
program includes a four-day training on HIV/AIDS in Mexico City prior to the
IAC. Participants will then attend the biennial conference, which brings
together HIV scientists, policy-makers and global stakeholders in HIV/AIDS.
Fellowships include airfare, hotel, meals, and a per diem.

Applications
The National Press Foundation would appreciate your help in receiving
applications from qualified journalists. The application is due at 12:00PM
on March 31, 2008. The two initial filters an applicant must clear are that
he or she covers HIV/AIDS for any media, and that English is both spoken and
understood. Further information can be found at www.nationalpress.org and
For International Journalists — Is HIV/AIDS Part of Your Beat?

The With Women Worldwide Compact is an action agenda designed to compel the
policy changes needed to prevent increasing HIV infections in women and
young people, and ensure their equitable access to treatment, care, and
support. The Compact was developed at a global meeting convened by the
International Women’s Health Coalition (IWHC) in 2005, which brought
together 28 women from seven constituencies.
